RISE OF THE INTERNET
The internet is a system architecture that revolutionized communication by allowing different computer networks around the world to interconnect. The internet emerged in the United States in the 1970s but was not visible and open to the public until the early 1990s. It was mainly used be the government during the 70s. By 2020, approximately 4.5 billion people, or more than half of the population is using it. This system made a huge impact to the world by helping others have access to free knowledge. The internet also made an impact to my life since it made knowledge more accessible and easier to find.
MARTIAL LAW
September 23, 1972 Ferdinand Marcos declared Martial law in the Philippines. During the Martial law About 70,000 people were imprisoned and 34,000 tortured, according to Amnesty International, while 3,240 were killed from 1972 to 1981. During this dark chapter of Philippine history, thousands of people were subject to various forms of torture .This went for 14 years until he was exiled from the country on February 24,1986. This event made an impact in my life because it raised awareness on the abuses of the government or the people who have power in our country.

RISE OF SOCIAL MEDIA
The 20th century was where the rise of social media started from Facebook, Twitter and Youtube to the newer platforms like Instagram and Tiktok. These platforms created an environment where users were able to reach the maximum number of people without sacrificing the intimacy of person-to-person communication. Social media helped us connect with other people with a single click. This made an impact in my life because it helped me connect and learn from other people around the world.
IPHONE
When Apple’s iPhone was launched around 2007 it changed the whole mobile industry, it became an item which had multiple uses like a camera, calculator, mp3 player and many more. The iPhone became intertwined with our lives because it replaced numerous devices. Apple says over 900 million iPhones are in active use which shows how many people use it today. This made an impact because this device helped me accomplish my daily goals in life.

RISE OF SPORTS CARDS
Sports cards have been outpacing the stock market and real estate. Big investors like Gary Vaynerchuck, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, and other celebrities, have been diversifying their investments to sports cards because its fun, relatable and profitable. Sports cards are being classified as the next “contemporary art”, meaning the art of today. Most investors would rather buy Lebrons’ rookie card, who they idolize, rather than buying Picasso’s artwork, which may be hard to comprehend. I myself have invested and made profit in NBA cards since it is easier to understand. Profits made during last season was around 100%-3000%. Luka Doncic was selling around Php 3,000 last year, but the continuous rise of demand and Lukas’ performance during the NBA restart pushed his prices to Php 30,000 and are being sold easily. This will certainly impact my future as I get to invest in something I’m passionate about.
COVID-19 PANDEMIC
The pandemic of the COVID-19 coronavirus is the defining global health issue of our time and the biggest threat we have faced since the Second World War. The virus has spread to every continent except. Antarctica since its appearance in Asia late last year. This pandemic changed our daily lives in numerous ways from the quarantine to having online classes. This will impact my future because this pandemic opened our eyes to different ways of living. This experience made me realize how to connect with people online and how to live without physical interaction.
